Claralicious: MY FIRST RUNWAY SHOW!!!

As people say, "The modelling industry is really a bitchy industry and a dirty one too." And true enough, it's proven except the latter. I had my first runway show on the 17th of April 2007! Pretty cool! Had loads of adventures la! (Ms Kimmi told me that I finally get to walk down the runway and that she's happy for me that my aspiration came true!) So many bitching from some models who apparently stabbed the models from their own agency. Weird. Well, while I was doing my hair for like 3 days straight in a roll, one of the models Mandy told me about a blooper in ANTP! I found the video and I want u guys to have a good laugh!

I swear you must be laughing your heads of la! Thank god my walk was fabulous and there were no mistakes! This was how my journey begin:

On Friday the 13th, Claudia from my modelling agency called,

Claudia: Hey Clara! I got through much trouble contacting you! You change your number ar?!

Clara: Yes! I did ( I was pretty shocked)

Claudia: okay, there's a hairshow by loreal. They are looking for tall models. Are you interested?!

Clara: Oh... okays...

Claudia: You can cut your hair short right?! Not a problem right?!

Clara: Huh?! .. no la! Hair can grow back one mah! (In that singlish accent)

Claudia: Wha! I love that attitude! Okay, You will go down for casting tomorrow and I will sms you the address okay?!
Clara: Okay!

There I got it. My 1st runway show! And I promised Terence to accompany him to Youth Flying Club the next day for his RadioTelephony Exam. Schedule clashed! And apparently, he wasn't happy about it! But, thank god! The 1st day ended early and I managed to give him a surprise as well! So, we were all happy people!!!

Day 1:

I was all ready for my casting! Gucci from head to toe! hahahas!!!

Jimmy who was in charged of the event took my photo and asked me to come back the next day as he was waiting for the GUEST HAIRSTYLIST to take a look at my face and hair!

As I mentioned, I managed to accompany Terence for his exam and I dozed off in SYFC while I was waiting for him la!

I had a terrible gastric attack when I reached home! ARGHS! That sucks la! And that boy made me green bean soup! My favourite can!

Day 2:

Well, I went in the Loreal techincal centre and I was so horrified! The GUEST STYLIST, Nicholas French (he is a world-renowned hair designer, platform artist and educator ) was selecting models for the show and they were require to do catwalk! (Some said, BYE BYE) And he looked at me(being me, I had Gucci from head to toe again!) and said, "HELLO! GOOD MORNING!"

And my group of models are under him, the URBAN STREET WEAR! We did not do the catwalk as he was focusing more on our hair cos' he will be using our team to focus on his styling and cuts etc.

So immediately, we were told to dress up till we find a suitable OUTFIT!

And as you can see, the BEFORE photo or Emily and me! And we started getting our hair done.
That ang moh guy is Nicholas French!
He asked the assistants to iron my hair before he cuts them!

And.. he started SNIPPING!!!

They cut my hair and dye, and hightlighted my hair! I didn't get to take a picture of it! It was pretty cool, not much bleach! Jimmy told me that I do not need to go back the next day as my hair was all done!

And... on the 3rd day, Claudia called me and asked me to go back... so, I had to cab down la!

Day 3:

After I reached, Nicholas looked at my hair and said in that ang moh slang, " I do not understand this, I mean, we need more colour in there! It's not much colour!" OMG! That means, more bleaching!!! And I sweared I look like a freaking ah lian!

Day 4 (ACTUAL DAY):

Nicholas wanted my hair to be set! ARGHS! THAT MEANS, CURLS!

Being a model is not fun! You had to like have your meals(I did that for like 4 days straight!) while you are doing your hair and you have EXTRA INGREDIENTS in your food: HAIRSPRAY!

We rushed off for our rehearsal! I must say... it was very hectic! You gotta like memorise your postitions and walks 2 hours before the show! And when one person gets it wrong, the entire group has to redo the everything! ARGHS! Hectic but yet fun la!
